Reach Out and Connect

Just a quick post.

Got my new copy of "Notebook" today and in the editors letter she talks about a woman whose son died posting a cry for help in their online forum and finding support in the replies from other Notebook readers.

This is why this forum and you people are so good. There is always someone there (wherever there may be) for me to share my thoughts, triumphs and downfalls with. And yes the day to day drudgery that we all come up against.

My life has been enriched by the kind, funny, witty and just plain commensense advice I have received. I have managed to connect with people who think along the same lines as I do (not about everything - that would be too boring) but who always seem to be there when I need a lift, a kick in the pants or even just a cyberhug.

Guys, in the words of my children - you rock!!
(keep chanting short post, short post short post)
:o)

  1. What a great post Julie and so true. I firmly believe that this is the main motivation tool I had in getting to goal and now in maintaining my weight.

There are a great bunch of people here who are always ready to step in with some motivation, inspiration or the kick we need to get moving and, while I do not post as regularly as I used to when losing weight, it still works for me.

Hope you have a great day - take care and be good !

  2. I love Notebook this month. Bought it yesterday and forwent the gym in favour of reading it from cover to cover. I read about Adam on the forums and my heart went out to the Mum. I agree that these sorts of forums, blogs, communities help to take the isolation out of an event and help to draw people together.

There are other great articles too this month and I have scheduled another read-a-thon this evening.

Hope you are enjoying the day :D

  3. You rock too Julie!

Yes, it is nice to be able to share our thoughts and help each other when and if we can.
